San Luis Obispo Master Chorale 2017 Spring Concert Rehearsals and Auditions for New Members!

The San Luis Obispo Master Chorale is a community ensemble that performs major works for chorus and orchestra. Conductor Thomas Davies and accompanist Susan Azaret Davies are in their 33rd year of leading the ensemble.

This spring, The 100 voice Chorale will give two performances of Carl Orff’s popular work, “Carmina Burana”. These performances, in collaboration with Ballet Theatre San Luis Obispo and  Central Coast Children’s Choir, are scheduled for Saturday night May 20 and Sunday afternoon May 21 at the San Luis Obispo Performing Arts Center.

Rehearsals will begin on Monday, February 6, at 7 pm in the Cuesta College Conference Center. Rehearsals are scheduled every Monday evening with the exceptions of February 20 and April 3. During concert week, there are rehearsals on Thursday. Auditions for new members will be held on Monday, January 30 beginning at 7 pm. The San Luis Obispo Master Chorale is led by Conductor and Artistic Director Thomas Davies, who serves as Professor and Director of Choral Activities and Vocal Studies at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The San Luis Obispo Master Chorale is a 70 to 100 member auditioned community chorus that is a part of Cuesta College Community Programs. Seasonal repertoire consists primarily of major works for chorus, soloists, and orchestra.
